Need help for best methods to fill an area (Fiberglass cowling)

You'll get a better result if you clean it before sanding. Don't thin the epoxy. open the crack a bit and clean it again. Acetone works well as does fuel alcohol. cut your pieces to fabric and test fit them. brush on neat mixed resin and fit the first of your cloth pieces. the rest of the steps...

Should I do this or that

The epoxy film is amine blush. easily washed away with a mixture of ammonia and water. wash it before you sand the epoxy or you will drive it deeper. Having glassed decks on full scale hydros, I've worked with gallons of the stuff.

Interesting Observations on rudders and fins

The material of the fins and rudders have changed on the U boats too. Look at one up close, they are beefy to say the least. Most of the turbine boats are running a huge fin. Width of the fin has been growing and growing as years go by. Anchoring hardware are at minimum 1"d and high tensile...

Madison Bud T4 Build, and mold construction

One way to find out would be to talk to Dave Villwock. He drove the T4 (I believe) and would know when the sponsons and shoes (those rear things) changed. Dave is on Facebook and is very likely to respond to your questions on the hull configuration. Phil

My 1st RC Boat Paint Job

It was likely your air pressure and the reducer you used. Reducers are temperature specific. The boat looks great!

    I'm clearly a Newby.

Thanks for allowing me into this forum. While I'm new to model boat competition, I'm not at all new to race boats. At least the full size ones. This is one that my partner and I currently own. Built in 1987, it's of the 7ltr class now called GNH. But, the travel to transport it to events and...
