    Prop walking F hydro

BB does list the alloy as 7075. I thought I'd read somewhere that Speedmaster hardware was 6061 but "quality" or "aircraft grade" is the only description I can find with a quick search.

    Prop walking F hydro

FWIW I just purchased some struts and rudders from BB and they arrived in about a week! So they're still in business. The downside is the quality of machine work is a little disappointing and not even close to Speedmaster hardware. I'm sure it'll work just fine though.

Best starter belts regardless of cost ??

I've been using Dayton belts, they seem to hold up well: https://www.grainger.com/category/power-transmission/power-transmission-belts/v-belts/cogged-v-belts?attrs=V-Belt+Section%7C2L&brandName=DAYTON&filters=attrs,brandName

A new nitro engine coming soon (some say I am mad for doing this!)

I like the way the head button comes off.

fe motor ,speed control ,and batteries

"For your boat, nothing." Agreed, it's an expensive way to go that requires a cooling mod and waterproofing, which voids the warranty. The primary advantage is that you can pull a lot of amps if that's in your plans. For me, they've also been bulletproof, and I find the Castle...

fe motor ,speed control ,and batteries

Roaring Top Batteries ROARINGTOP USA are good 70C batteries, fast and durable. If you want to go nuts on an ESC the Castle Mamba XLX with a water-cooling conversion is a beast. I think the latest one is good for over 400 amps. Brian Buaas, raptor347 here on IW, does a cooling mod for somewhere...

fe motor ,speed control ,and batteries

Jim, I'm a nitro guy as well, so I'm no expert. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable will correct any misstatements I make. Kv does not relate to torque in a general sense. Magnet strength/size, stator wind, etc., determine torque. You can have 2000Kv motors of vastly different torque; higher...

fe motor ,speed control ,and batteries

Jim, P-hydro motor is usually around 2000Kv, a cat shouldn't be a lot less. If you were looking for 1500Kv and could only find 1700Kv you can drop down on the prop size to compensate for the increased RPMs. TP Power sells direct if you can't find what you're looking for from a retailer. I'm...

    Formula

Tom, Kv is usually described as RPM/volt though there's probably more to it than that. So... a 1600Kv motor with 4S battery (~4v per cell or 16 volts) will turn 25,600 RPM unloaded. RPM=Kv*volts Is that what you're looking for, or do you want to know how a motor's Kv is determined? You'll need...
