Send them out and have them digitized to a DVD. I did some family 8mm film and will send VHS tapes out when we get back north, well worth the cost and they preserve much better.
I pump Corrosion X through all water jackets as part of my after run. You can use WD40 but you will need to flush it out after with something that won’t attach the o-rings. ie: alcohol, Sta-bil fogging spray, Corrosion X etc.
John wasn’t interested in model boaters in the beginning, he was very content to sell cheap motors to airplane guys. As more and more competition came along and started to affect his sales and RC boating had taken hold he finally started listening to boaters. I spent lots of time on the phone...
I wouldn’t use micro balloons, they reduce strength. Use micro fiber only for strength but you can use micro balloons for final finishing as it sands easy.
I’d use masking tape to build a dam all around it. Then use straight West epoxy, warm it with a hot air gun and use halogen lights to keep it warm while the warm epoxy saturates. It will take awhile to completely fill. Let dry then sand and final fill with micro fiber filled epoxy repeat until...
Jim Wilson introduced us both to it at Hobart many years ago. If you knew him then you know the amount of research and testing he did before recommending it to anyone.
If you’re one of those that like to spray their after run through the spray bar in the carb the Rislone will work better if thinned. A few of us bugged Rislone (they are local to a few of us in Michigan) and they would not share so I got out all my solvents and tested which would stay in...
I don’t use this stuff as an anything and everything spray. I use it only to water proof electronics. If I remember there were videos out there showing a 110v hand drill hanging by the cord and running in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Another video was of a servo hanging in a glass of water and...
Grim may not have seen this so I’ll add my 2 cents which may or may not be exact. The jist of it applies to Corrosion X or other corrosion specific fluids. They work on a molecular level and penetrate into the metal surface. In the case of the glow plug wire, it’s shielded in the plug housing...
I think what Grim is referring to is an old glow plug to run the engine with when you first start it after using your after run procedure. Some of the after run fluids will attack glow plug wires and reduce the plug life significantly.
