it got posted before we were ready, but the Rochester Hills Parks & Rec department has OK'd the running of the 2020 D2 Challenge. The race flyer is up on IMPBA and we are asking all participants to register and pre-pay via RC Racing Events.

yeah, some are more reliable than others but in my experience all brands today are potentially more problematic than machines of old. I'm still running my old-ish Whirlpool direct-drive top-loader with no electronics; it's one from when they still had electromechanical timers. I live right on...
we need a big fast forward button on 2020.
only silver lining is hopefully race turnout in 2021 picks up.
BTW Garry I did receive the refund already, thank you.
After talking with the City of Burton (who only reopened their offices a couple of weeks ago) we will not be able to host the 2020 Hydrofest on August 9. No idea whether we can get a date later in the year.
Can we hit fast-forward on 2020?
I was told it makes little to no difference once you get your flow dialed in. mine are set up whichever way lets me get the absolute shortest length of fuel line from the needle outlet to the carb inlet nipple.
bunch of us tend to use the America's Best Value Inn. it's... cheap, but basically around the corner from the race site. Plus there's a spot across the street to have a few adult beverages in the evening if you're so inclined. But sometimes there are "interesting" individuals out and about.
as for me it's cost and time. If I fly down it's easily $800-900 to attend, if I drive then I have to set aside 5 work days for travel. and last year out of the 15 vacation days I supposedly get I was able to take 4. And I've already had to cancel one trip this year.
I didn't care for the fact that the proposal changed two things in one vote, 1) the deck openings and 2) removed the requirement for "period appropriate" decorations. I would have voted for one and not the other had they been separate proposals.
