It Definately was full of tons of exciting racing.
The 2021 and 2023 national champ thunderboat survived another weekend.
Doug Peterson - the builder and driver of the 2021 National Champ barely snuck out.
If you call half a lap sneaking!!
Great job Doug.
Tom,
For 2023 it is. The racers in D4 building 1/8 Scales (about 7 or 8 boats) wanted to match what D14 is doing - since D4/D14 racers compete at a number of events each year and wanted the D14 and D4 boats "compatible" for a better word.
The scale registration form on the IMPBA website...
In D4, when clubs define 8S in their race registration, there isn’t any sense registering or showing up with 10S. 10S will not be racing against 8S.
In D4, there will be 8S Racing in 1/8th Scale. If enough interest in 10S 1/8th Scales - (3 or more boats) I think clubs would add a 10S Scale...
If we need to adjust for 2024, we will. Again, biggest confusion has been 8S or 10S.
I hope the three IMPBA Hall of famers racing FE Scale in D4/D14 can help coach us along in 2023 on the FE direction while racing with some recent newcomers to the IMPBA.
Look forward to some great 1/8 Scale...
