I am converting my old Miss Circus Circus to electric. If I use one of these pre made adjustable motor mounts, how do you guys secure it to the hull? From what I have seen, it looks like they are bedded in epoxy. It doesn't seem like that would be strong enough? Thanks

They can be glued in but I would recommend gluing a doubler to the hull bottom with epoxy and screw the mount in thought the bottom and doubler.

That's kind of what I had in mind. I was going to epoxy an 1/8" g-10 plate to the hull bottom with 8-32 screws threaded in from the bottom (threads pointing up) Then use the studs and aluminum angle to secure the mount.

Or is this overkill?

The G-10 might be but, if it has you trusting that everything will hold together, the piece of mind may make it worth it.
