I'm curious, is your R65 an original drum-valve marine?

no it is an older disc valve motor

Nothing wrong with the disc motors, they just require some maintenance. Should spool up faster as disc is a lot lighter than a drum.

A lot of guys used that rod in the Picco 67 IIRC, was 0.050" longer.

That's thirty years ago!

I have a few new (never run) 1980's Rossi R65 and R80 marine engines. I will swap these titanium rods for the stock.

So, you're saying these rods were also used in 1980's Picco's?
