This is the beginning of my new Twin Q powered Open Class tunnel build. I have been running a very fast single Q tunnel in Open for a number of years with great success, so I decided to step it up a bit with a Twin build. It will be called the Zenoah Killer.

Off to a good start! Ill update as I progress.

NICE!

I see your sketch in the background for mounting the two engines. Are you planning to lock the engines together and use one pivot pin to turn them both on or are you going to allow each engine to pivot independently on your bracket? When I built my twin outboard I locked them together and used one pivot pin but I always wondered how it would react to allowing each engine to pivot.

That is going to be some wicked power!

Keep us posted,

-Carl

Hey Carl, they will be locked together, and pivot as one. I ran my old Twin OS boat like that and it worked well.

Thanks!

Yes sir, Ill be using the same ESCs Ive been using on my Single Q. Sea King 180s

They are very nice speedies for the job...twin 1600kv motors are going to be brutal. Cannot wait to see it !

The only thing better than an outboard on a tunnel is TWO outboards on a tunnel. Looking good keep us updated!

Nice work Gabe! Your 450 kit should be burned today. I am looking forward to seeing this bad boy chewing up the track. I'll give you a heads up when it is in the box and on its way to the StumpFAB shop.

I see you got Shane thinking over there. LOL You know your Twinn Q project is waking him up at night LOL.

My phone should be getting a call from the islands any day now...

Shane DEFINITELY needs to build one!!

Mic, im not sure yet. I may. Ill try it with two regular rotation props first, then go from there. Easy enough to try.

Been a while since I’ve updated this thread. I’ve gotten a lot of the work done on the boat. Boat has been rigged out, and then stripped down for paint and painted already. I should be picking up the boat today, and will start the process of putting everything back in it. Will be making its debut at the February SOWEGA race in the Open Tunnel Class. Should be a handful!!
