Rob,

It depends on your set up a lot?

21-Mono = 1614/3 Chopper And Cleaver Style both are great propellers.

21-Hydro = 1717-19-38%, 1815-19-38%, 1817-19-38% with reduced diameter 44mm.

21-Tunnel = 1515-19-38% and 1514-17-45%

45-Hydro = 2117-19-38%,2215-17-45%, 2217-19-38%, with a ski = 2317-19-38%

45-Tunnel = still working on them,the 1817-19-38% and 1915-19-38%

45-Mono = 2015-17-45%

67-Hydro = 2415-17-45%, 2517-19-38%

1/8th scale = 2315-17-45%, 2317-19-38%, 2315-19-38%

Twin Hydros = 2717-19-38%, 2719-19-38%, 2817-19-38%, 2819-19-38%

Still testing the 2315/3-15-47% for a better three propeller.

Some in stock currently and others are on order from Jim @ ABC

I can tell you most of these are not just sharpen and balance no matter what you read or hear on Facebook. :o

Many other options coming up soon. Some just need more work than others.

Thanks For Reading,

21-Mono = 1614/3 chopper still very good

21-Tunnel = 1515-19-38%

45-Hydro = 2117-19-38%,2215-17-45%, 2217-19-38%, with a ski = 2317-19-38%

45-Tunnel = still working on one, the 1817-19-38% is being tested now, just waiting for results?

45-Mono = 2015-17-45%

67-Hydro = 2415-17-45%, 2517-19-38%

1/8th scale = 2315-17-45%, 2317-19-38%,2316/3-15-60%,

Still working on 2216/3-15-60%

Well I disagree :) ...I race 21/45/67 and Twin Rigger's running the new ABC prop's right out of the bag B/S. You just have to find the prop for your pipe/engine/boat setup. Not hard to find if you ask the people who are using the new ABC. Hit Jim up at ABC,he makes them. He will help steer you in right direction. This is why he is spending all this time and effort to give us props to bolt on and go FAST right out of the bag. Thank you Jim for all your R+D work you are putting into prop's.

Stan,

Do you care to share your list of what you are running stock?

Without the jewelers file at the Lake?

21-Hydro?

45-Hydro?

67-Hydro?

21-Tunnel?

45-Tunnel?

21-Mono?

45-Mono?

67-Mono?

1/8 th Scale?

It is more helpful to boaters if you give them options/choices.

Rob,

To update the 21-Hydro listing:

1715-17-45%

1716-17-45%

1815-17-45%

1817-19-38%

1819-19-38%

Wednesday night I took Stan's advice and sharpened and balanced two of each of the above propellers.

Ran them on my Blackjack-21 with a Nova Rossi-21 35+ prepared by Jim Wilson with an old Original Jim Irwin

S-pipe wrapped with insulating tape at 8". Air density was 103 at Cedar Lake here in Traverse City, Michigan.

I was running O'Donnell 65% Punch Fuel for all of these test runs with a rich needle setting for sure.

Found that the stock :1715,1716 ran Very Well right out of the bag just Sharpened and Balanced on a Frank Orlic balancer.

Then the :1815,1817,&1819 were run next. These three in their stock form ran OK, but they launched just a little harder

and they did not rev as well as the 1700 series. The reduced cupped 1800 series propellers on the other hand, ran Very Well

with very good performance: launching, milling, accelerating from corner to corner, and very good top end speed. And I talked

with Jim Schaefer after the testing results and him and I agree that some may be running too big of propeller for their set up.

With warmer temperatures coming across the country soon along with more humidity it may be helpful to have some smaller

propeller options in your propeller box. My personal favorites were the 1715,1716, and the reduced cupped 1815's. These three

all were Very Good on my Blackjack-21. Now remember if you are running a JAE-GT-21 with a ski underneath it will pull more

propeller. A good friend of mine is getting my Mike Walker built JAE-GT-21 ready for the next test. I will be testing the 1800 and

1900 series on this set up.

Enjoy Testing,

21- 1815,1817 turn up good rpms on the short JAE

1915,1917 turn up good rpms on the longer JAE GT

SPP pipe,NR 180 elbow ex measured from side of block to center of peak of pipe 2 5/8 ,50% Nitro 20% oil. The other's will have to look and see what they are. None have the faces of the blade have been touched with anything rougher than 600 grit paper.

Stan,

I agree with you on your 21-Hydro assessment for sure.

How about all of the others?

And I am very impressed at Jim Schaefer's dedication to our hobby.

Thanks to Jim we have so many more options to choose from to try

and get the most out of our boats now. ABC Propellers in my opinion

have changed model boating for the future and beyond.

Sam and Others,

Try Walt Barney or Joe Petro for raw in the bag propellers. I know they

have recently received a shipment of current ABC Propellers. It is always

good for everyone in the hobby to have more choices to choose from.

Thanks For Reading and Replying,

Mark Sholund

Ive been working with the 19 series on my 21 boat.. which.. wasn't mentioned.. its taking reduction and time... I may.. return to the 18 series to gain a better all around heat boat... if you choose not to work your propellors to say.. the extent some do... the above posted propellors will work easily out of the bag... if... you look at these things... look at one... there is massive cup ( visualize the ski ramp Mark relates to, per cupping)... at the trailing edge of the prop... and nominally by minutely honing this edge... reducing the cup accordingly.... ala... season to taste for your motor/pipe yadda... more to that... a lot more... anyway... for the guys wondering... maybe choosing... Jim has published the chart of the new props... and I spent a lot of time taking known propellors and their according pitch to diameter ratios etc.... forming an average of... what could possibly work off the new chart... and ordered a lower... mid and higher of each and had at it... I've not even got to my 40 boat series yet... lol... one more... novice may I be... the rake angle included in these new propellors is a win win in my book per thrust angle rearward easily... gauanteed gains... but... ive found... the lift reduces accordingly also... at least on my test 20 boat... anyway... scarce as they are... Ill throw the kudos to Jim also... theyre great, and I'm sure hes turning them out as fast as he can.... gonna throw a kick out to yet to date though... fastest 20 boat ive ever seen in heat race trim.... is still on an octura 1.6 propeller.... keep filing em.... I enjoy it.... mike

I ordered two ABC props from Walt Barney. The first one has been mentioned in this forum. (1715 ) The last one I ordered is a 1717. Does anyone have any information about the 1717? I still have my Black Jack .21 (not a ski boat) set up for CMB RSV, MACS, and Valvolas. Thanks in advance. Richard
