Thought I would let everyone know that Gus Dolsen had open heart surgery yesterday. I just got off the phone with Deb Dolsen. She said Gus was doing great. They had him sitting up today less than 24 hours of a 6 hour surgery. He has been in the hospital since Tuesday, he did not have a heart attack, but had major blockage in the arteries. He will be in rehab, and off work for 12 weeks. Gus wanted everyone to know he is doing great!

I understand completely what he's going through. I had mine done 9 1/2 years ago ( October of 2007 ). If he had a good surgeon, and does the rehab they tell him to do, he'll be ready to play football in about 3 months.

The first 3 or 4 days is the worst.

Gus,

Make sure you take your boat radio to rehab. Trigger finger and steering, then everything else should fall into place. Speedy recovery.

Good advise. Gotta keep the thumb, forefinger and trigger finger in shape.

Ya might try working them out while you watch TV as well.

talked with Gus Saturday. he is doing very well, has several months of recovery to do. he is in good spirits so that helps.
