What works best to countersink a 3-mil hole thru 3- mil carbon-fiber? any ideas?

Use a carbide counter sink tool.High speed steel willn't lost long at all.

Dave is right on the carbide. When you are buying a countersink bit, check the angles of what you are using it for. For instance if it is for countersink screws, the most common is 82 degrees.

I prefer using a Lunzer diamond plated countersink because it does not fray the carbon fiber.
