This is an old post! Quad counties club no longer exists. Cincinnati and Madison, In are probably the closest sites and they are both 80+ miles from Lexington, Ky

Mike thank you although disappointing news. Been running in NJ and open water is limited. Do both ponds allow unlimited access ?

I can't answer about access. I belong to the Madison club but I live 50 miles from there so hopefully a club officer can give you the right answer. I don't run in Cincy as it's 100 miles from me. The Southern Indiana Propnuts ( where I run most ) run at Huber Winery in Starlight, In, but access is limited to late afternoon and evenings.

Ken we here in Cincinnati have one of the best race sites in the country. We have a record course that in the past have set many records at out site. All you have to do is to be a member of IMPBA and the Cincinnati Model Boat Club to have unlimited access to the lake, any time, any day, all day. Our lake is on the west side of Cincinnati and is about 1hr. 15 min. from Lex. Let me extend a invitation to you to join our club, CMBC. Thanks Bob Blazer

I live in Louisville and can give you a good estimation on travel time from Louisville. Just add a hour from Lexington.

It’s a 1 1/2 hour drive to Madison IN. Good club. Limited on water dates. But I can get you the dates if need be.

It’s a 1 1/2 hour drive to Evansville IN. Good Club. They can run anytime I do believe.


It’s 30 Minute Drive to Starlight IN. Good guys. Limited to Afternoons after the business closes down.

It’s a 1 1/2 to 3 Hour drive to Cinci. Depends on traffic. Lol. Also good club. Like Mr Blazer said. Great site.

All good viable options. I found a place 20 minutes south of Louisville that I’ve been looking at. Haven’t had any luck getting a hold of owners. But for now All 4 are great. Welcome to KY. We go through all 4 seasons in a week.

Mikey, is there normally anything going on the fourth weekend of June? There is a chance the wife and I may be in town that weekend in 2022 and I'd love to go boating on Sunday. BTW, Evansville may be over run with petticoats, western boots and people talking in strange tongues that weekend, just a heads up
