29.5 is definately the preferred ig block set up at the moment. It has a good balance of torque and hi revs.

Be sure to double check the rules you will be racing under if you plan to race.

NAMBA & IMPBA have slightly different rules but you can get a 29.5 to run across both sets of rules if they make it correctly.

GZ-29.5 Pro Mod Engine
Its a little expensive but I will work some O.T. and get it together..I have 5 months until some form of racing starts...so time is on my side...

Hello everyone...
Well the conquest is waiting for hardware and I will order all that in the second week of December..im off work the Xmas week so that will be the build week...
So I do have a question...I have seen some Cat hulls with the rudder bracket short ...like 1-5/8" from the transom...then some 3" or more from the transom....also there is the question of strunt mount location....inside or outside on the transom....
Please help...I do need some insight on this...my money tree is not blooming during the winter so I need to make the right choice the first time....thanks very much....
Oh...do we need a Conquest build string started..?

You think time is on your side but it is funny hah fast it goes. I have a nitro cat and strut is on the back of the transom and the rudder was behind the prop. There are lots of different strut lengths too so check what the manufacture suggests or look at what other's are running that works.

Im waiting on Aeromarine to send me a radio box and a build sheet....at one time Aeromarine sent with each boat a blue print drawing of the boat and where all there hardware went...but Remy said that was stopped some time ago...
So the district I'm a member of have a large turnout with the LSG Gas Cat...and like any thing else .. Each has there own style.
Oh...and the time thing...building is a natural love for me...so I spend as much time as needed to work on a project.
So the Xmas holiday the boat will be all build rigged and waiting for a warm day in April.

Strut close to transom ,not dead center offset i believe 1/8 inch , rudder 3 inch set back .105 degree header , and your rigging not building haha

Most Cat builds are about the same; set the CG at 33% forward of the transom.

Ok...2 things..the 105° header..is that a simplicity thing as opposed to the wrap to center that limits the radio box access.

Hello everyone..
So i have all the hardware and doodads..
So after I have marked where I want the motor mount....
What trick is used to drill the holes...spacing is tight and a right angle drill attachment is almost too long to fit into the 5" rail spacing and after a drill bit is attached its way too long to get a clean hole...

Zippkits has an angled driver that includes a 1/4" bit. I've used my Dremel with the right-angle adapter and a 1/4" bit with an 1/8" shank, a Dremel part.

Im guessing the 1/4" bit is a stubby..? From Zipp...and your the second that suggests the dremel right angle...tbe reviews dont look good on the part...whats your experience with it..?

HI, Bob... Have you considered trimming the shank of the drill bit(the part that goes inside the chuck) if your right angle tool is similar to mine, you can shorten overall length by 5/8 maybe a bit more. The bit in the pics is 5/32.

I never thought of cutting a drill bit...
So I will be off to get a right angle drill adapter....the dremel version doesn't have good reviews so will get one similar to what is in the pics..I could always use a new tool....

You could try using screw machine drills. They are quite a bit shorter than conventional jobber drills. You can get them from MSC Direct. The other alternative is to just cut a regular drill shorter.

That's not the Dremel bit as they're short and come in a pack of 4 different sizes from 1/16" to 1/4".
Yes, the one from Zippkits is short enough to get in between the 5" rails with a hex drive so that other things like socket attachments, screwdriver bits, etc. can also be used with it.

So Gizmo sent the remaining parts...and quickly I might add...top notch service...
I did make a change....after talking with several Cat owner/drivers..I decided on a 26cc Gizmo gz4 mod engine...
I made a visit to my local Box store and found a dremel right angle drill...so its time to start building...

Don't use a wrap to center header. You can not even tune that pipe on that header. The Conquest takes a regular 90° and straight back. 100° and 105's put it over the radio box which sucks but a wrap to center even worse and can't tune it either.
4" rudder standoff gives the best overall drivability.

BA 7016-300 or a 410 is the prop for the boat. Voodoo XX Tater Cat is another good one.

Do not follow the setup sheet from Aeromarine for sure.

The engine is installed as far forward as it will go. The driveline center is 1/2 to 5/8" above the running surface.

Offset strut 3/16" to the right. 1/8" minimum for pushrods unless you want to make new one every wipeout. Digital is best and 250 oz. in. minimum servo torque on steering. Steering and Throttle must be digital also to use the fail safes seamlessly on most radio's.
