Just got a Zippkits FE 33.suggestions on motor/prop combination running on 4S. Will be oval racing. Thanks for your help

4082 2000kv, 200 amp speed controller, mod1450 prop, 4s power. Good speed, handles well. Watch the motor mount all motors won't bolt right up.

I wanted to learn a little more about fe and not spend a lot to start. Total cost was about the same as the price as a new good nova 21 engine by itself and the speed is right there with a good 21 boat. Easy to run without the need for all the support equipment that goes with nitro, seems like this class should really take off.

Yes put 1st run on it yesterday. Still waiting on Shouland props. Ran a 1450mod prop. Pond was a little small so hard to air it out. What technical data do you have.

I have all of my testing results as I was dialing my rigger in prop size, esc size, esc temp, motor and triming it in to track straight let me know if interested I will PM you my number.....

I was more interested in sponson angle of attack, sponson alignment (straight, toe in), sponson offset left & right (equal?), tub angle of attack, CG %, turn fin angle/depth, rudder setback, rudder width, etc.

I have a 33 FE with 4082 and runs great. However if I turn right too sharp and let off the throttle a little it will roll over on its back. Is this normal or something wrong with the set up? Or just need to make wider turns and stay up on the throttle?
Thanks, Bret

Hi Mike, I just purchased a FE33 from Zippkits. What is your S4 set Motor, ESC, Props,..... I just want to do SAW Runs. I'm new to Electrics and don't know exactly how to match the ESC to the Motor. I was thinking a 4082-1600kv on 4's with a 150A ESC. I want top speed! so is 4s or 6s the Answer. Thanks in advance for any assistance. A 1450 Prop came with my kit.

I am running a leopard 4082 - 1600 Kv on 6 cell 6200 mah battery. I have the 1450 prop that Ken Brown sharpened, balanced, and cupped the tips. It GPS in the 69 to 71 mph range. Good run time and doesn't get too hot. Oh yeah, a ZTW Seal 160 A esc.

Well I really appreciate the info, I'll truly consider going in that direction.

A 4 cell setup with a 4082 motor and a 150 amp esc is a recipe for disaster. Go with 6S and your amps go down by 1/3rd. 1600KV on 6S is a good start. You may want to try an Octura M545 and or an 1816-1817 ABC. A larger ESC above 200 amps could pull bigger props,
Mic

OK, MIC... I guess I don't understand the ESC & Motor relationship that well. The specs on a Leopard 4082-1600Kv is 120A/33volt... I though a 150A ESC would cover that 120A Motor, even allowing it about 20-25% more Amps. I new to electrics, I guess theres other factors at play I'm not aware of...... that's why I reaching out to you guys with the experience, and expertise. Please tell me what I'm missing... I want to get on the wright track. Thanks

People run boats in classes. 4s is one class and 6s is another. This thread is about 4s.

On electronics , power is measured by Watts. Watts = Volts x Amps. That's how given the same Wattage, 6s is going to be less Amps than 4s.
