SO I NEED TO BUY SOME STARTER BELTS FOR MY 21 BOATS THEY NEED TO BE SMALLER THEN THE ONES WE BUY EVERYWHERE, I HAVE ONE FROM SOMEONE FOR MY TWELVE BUT LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO FIND BELTS I CAN CHOOSE FROM. THANKS FOR THE HELP

take a look at these 3m335 gates they wear like iron. only thing you may have to cut your groove in your fly wheel a little narrower. And they slide right under the motor

I have some Japan's made starter belts, 5mm wide and length have 15", 17" 19" & 21". Prices start from $4.20!

Sewing machine dealers/repair shops. I bought a bunch of used belts for a song. They wear on the sides which makes them fit into the grooves a lot easier.

I know this will give me nothing but heartache for saying but this is exactly why dealers carry very limited choices in some items.

Maybe the sewing machine dealers will start carrying your other needed racing items too.

The belts from sewing machine shops can be more expensive and I had one break the second time I used it as the cords were at an angle. Bill is rite about needing to support our people who supply our hobby!

I understand where you are coming from but... so.. you have a full supply of marine grade plywood, basswood and spruce?

where are your lift ring choices or I would like a set of high back and low back seat choices for my open cockpit scale boat...

Do we stop being thrifty because of what you said.. Na.. This is one of those.. ya got to let it go and keep up YOUR VALUE to the market.. YOUR knowledge IS whats bring customers back along with continued support, constant reminders and market, market, market..

Forget what you can not control and concentrate on what you CAN!

You got this man!

Grim

I had used a bunch of the aquacraft belts and they didn't hold up, so I sourced what I needed else where. and now look at the support that tower, hobbico, and aquacraft have for us. none, so much for supporting you hobby suppliers!

I've got the starter belts from the sewing machine shop before and they held up forever

Wow this brought some good conversations!!! just too be clear if i needed the normal belt that everyone sells i wouldn't have started this post, but i have a special issue the room under the flywheel is too close for the belts everyone sells, this is the reason for the post!!not because i wanted to save a dollar thanks guys

Now to bring this thread back on track. The one in the pic is a 13". Very thin. I run it on my 12 too. Maybe this is the one you have already. Here is a link to them on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Gates-3M335-Polyflex-Section-Length/dp/B00CJLPR0G

It looks like in the other people bought section there are some others to choose from. I might pick up one of these. Gates 5M365 A little wider and about the same length.

Looks like you can get them in 315,335,355,375 lengths in 3m or 5m width. I could not find any chart for them. I just changed the numbers and searched.
