Noddcat is soon to be launched. This is the old design from the early 90`s, one out of 4 new that was built in 2015 from the old templates.

I have mounted active trim in this one. What you see in the videoclip is just functiontest, no endpoints are set yet.

Yes, for my style of driving it does. But when using the trim as a balancetool during a race, it is either fully out or fully in because I use a pushbutton underneath the steeringwheel to opperate the trim.

So, you have to properly dial in and preset the endpoints.

At the moment I`m working on and new bracket that will have lift as well. You will not need a lift during a race, but it is a very usefull tool when dialing in a boat, when it is dialed in you can just tighten up the bolts to have a fixed hight. (and disconect the servo of course)

Nice job Joern. Shane Adderly from Bermuda has figured that out as well. Will be interesting with the 3/16 cable. That will be your prop size limit. Keep us updated.
 
Well, there is some, last weekend me and Kjell Gunnar had further progress on the new Noddcat design. First one to come out will be the 45 size.
In a couple of weeks we will start milling on the cowling plugs.
It is very cold now, so I guess there won`t be any testing before next year, only building and drinking.

That 91 looks right at home on that lower.

Any shaft wear issues other than the norm on that lower Joern ??

shanes could only get 2 to 3 laps before it would eat the flex shafts , tried an assortment of props on it and that didnt seem to matter what you put on it
 
Saw one pass . Will try again on light boat but don't know if it will work needs bigger flex not bigger lower.

Unfortunately I have not had time to test the bigger engines. Andreas Nodland have progress on the C size (67-91) tunnel, but I dont think it will be ready for a maiden run before the lakes are frozen. Besides that I have to design and make a cowling for this tunnel as well.

About the flex issue we will have to see where we get the problems and then solve it. A new propshaft assy will be designed and made though.

However, troubleshooting and problemsolving is a very nice and interesting part of the sport :)

Thats what is working for us on the 67s. Bury the prop deeper, 55-57mm diameter, more pitch, let it turn up. We saw incredible speeds at this past Fall Nats over past 67 races and we are just beginning and all had new engines. The 91 OB will require even more thought.

Thats what is working for us on the 67s. Bury the prop deeper, 55-57mm diameter, more pitch, let it turn up. We saw incredible speeds at this past Fall Nats over past 67 races and we are just beginning and all had new engines. The 91 OB will require even more thought.
That has been my goal for at least a decade. Smaller props provide much better handling, specially in the corner, gives you better acceleration and engine is easier to tune as well.

Now this is gonna be quit interesting, we`ve allready abused the lowers with quit heavy electric motors on high revs, so I`m sure the cable will handle it (for a while) but we have not had as high load as a 57 mm on the 3/16" cables.

Has anyone tried to run the 67 on a Lawless drive? Not sure if the steep flex angle on the K&B lower hurts the cable more than on a Lawless....

Shane ran a lawless lower on his 91, I think the 67s have worked well with either. I think regardless the issue you are fighting is a small, short shaft at a steep angle with a lot of power forcing it to turn. Geared lower, or a custom lower with a longer shaft/ more gradual bend would solve that issue. Reducing load on the shaft of course couldnt hurt either, where the smaller prop comes into play.
