Indicator movement x 360 / # degrees = pitch

My "standard" is to measure 15* of the LE and 15* of the TE at 75% from the C/L.

For example the LE on some 1667's I just checked was:

0.180" x 360 / 15 = 4.32"

I've found that LE pitch will tell you pretty close what speed the prop is capable of, with zero slip it's:

pitch in inches x rpm / 1057

For that 1667 it's: 4.32 x 24,000 / 1057 = 98.1 mph. If you have a clean running boat 15% slip works well so 98.1 x 0.85 = 83 mph.

I checked this audio tach app with the data logger on my SAW boat and it's surprisingly accurate: Engine RPM

My 90 boat with the above prop ran 82 in this vid with the Sky RC GPS. TMI!

I use a WOODs gauge.. BUT picked this Speedmaster in a buyout.. if the Speedmaster came with charts it would be good to get a set back with this gauge.

Thanks for posting TK.. your info is invaluable to us all!
