    Bearing damage

So has anyone found that adding a certain type of oil to commercial fuels can extend bearing life? I see torco has 14% synthetic and 2% castor for a total of 16%. So there is some room to add another 2-4% of additional oil to maybe improve or change its properties. I have always added an oz of...

    .67 spraybar hole .

Over here in the northwest we run at sea level in 60 degree weather then the next week we go over the mountains and run at 1500 feet in 95 degree weather. I want to see if I can improve the fuel draw through the spraybar in the hot weather and thin air. All the info says to run leaner in the hot...

    .67 spraybar hole .

I turned one out on the lathe today with a larger diameter spraybar so I could drill it out to .098". The original spraybar is .137" diameter so I made one that measures .152". That's the largest I could go without drilling out the carb body. Hope to test it out soon if the weather gets better...

    .67 spraybar hole .

Bringing up an old thread I have measured the hole in my spraybars on my CMB 67's black carbs with red spraybar and it looks like they are .080" . Does anyone know how far I can drill these out before I need to worry about the spray bar breaking off from engine vibration? The current...

    CMB 67 rotor end play

I measured the depth of the marks in my rotors and most are around .001". One Idea I was thinking of was to machine a pocket into the rotor around the pin hole and install a thrust washer for the bearings to wear on then I could easily change it out. Who knows what other problems could arise...

    CMB 67 rotor end play

Yes I run square drive in 1/8 scale hydroplane. I do change the bearings a couple times a season even when they seem ok but it always seems to run better after. After years of not really getting into the technical stuff on these engines I thought I would spend some more time learning about them...

    CMB 67 rotor end play

I find it interesting that there is no way to control this part of the engine. The drum sort of just floats free to move fwd and aft in the engine. With two gaskets it sets the end play around .023" so I guess that must be CMB's intent on the setup. I was hoping to find a way to address the wear...

    CMB 67 rotor end play

Can anybody tell me the correct drum rotor end play fro a CMB67? I have found some old info about this but nothing definitive. I have 4 motors I'm going through and one has .015" and the others are at .023". I haven't measured one without the gasket so I don't know what the minimum would be...

    3pv futaba

I've been running the R324BS on my 3pv with no problems. It has two antennas. They say not to use analog servos with it and they are correct. I had a little throttle servo act up when I just plugged the new receiver into the radio box without really checking the servo. Brent

    Zero degree cmb 67-80 header

Tried my hand at making a zero degree water cooled header last week. It was looking good till I realized I miss calculated the cooling holes. They were just too close to the inside diameter of the header. Several hours and setup (and of course my amature mistakes) make these not cost effective...

    Starter batteries.

Here's what I set up last year using the 20v batteries from my power drill. It works pretty good but not as well as a lipo. Starts my 67's without any trouble. It's a adapter for a power wheels kids electric car. $12 on ebay

Parts Wanted Grimracer Cowl Locks. Wanted!!

I've been searching for some more of them everywhere. All my boats have them but I need more for new builds . My last boat I was short one of the spring receptacles so I made one from the smallest binder clip I could find. Works but not pretty Brent
