Mario-this brings back a lot of good memories. This was the 1st fiberglass production boat made by Leecraft, I think in 1980-81. This picture is the gen. 2 deck. The gen 1 deck did not have a cockpit and the NAMBA guys in CA. complained saying they had to have a driver and I built this deck. By...
Hi Jerry-when I saw this thread I had to get in my "way back machine" and see if I could recall some of this but I realized I had all my certificates arranged neatly in a folder and all I had to do was look at that. I haven't saw much on here about O.B.'s but I am glad to say I got all my speed...
I also forgot to mention Martins 20 hydro record set mid-week. 16.1 sec. is bad fast for any boat but for a 20 boat that is RIDICULOUS!!!! Great run Martin.
Hey Glenn-must be nice having a TT with 2-people (haha). Guess you can't use the excuse of "I only needed one more run". Sounds like fun though, get after those records!!!!
Hey Glenn-do you fellas just sit around and tell racing yarns when the water is rough like in this picture (he he). Tell Martin we want to see a low 14 sec oval run or even a hi 13 sec. would work too. Good luck to everyone!!!
Thanks Kris-you are right-everything had to be perfect for that run (69+mph not 70. Just want to get the facts straight). I told David that this may never happen again and if it doesn't I am okay with that. However with that said, we did make a pass at 70.4mph at the Turkey TT's so maybe it is...
Dave Roach-you are flat out WRONG on this. What Rod said was correct. The sport 21 rules were proposed to the board at the 1995 IMPBA INTERNATS and was put into effect for the following year and nothing has been changed since that time.
Great to see and talk to you Mike-I wasn't feeling very good but I didn't want to miss this TT's. Nothing like watching a nitro boat make 136+mph runs. Videos are okay but there is nothing like seeing it and hearing it in real time --WOW!!!! Hope to see you at the next TT's.
Well-the water at the turkey TT's in Huntsville was not perfect for tunnel boats but was good on and off all day Friday and a little windy on and off on sat. but if you were patient the water would get right for anybody that wanted to run. Friday morning while the water was calm our little...
Alan-I cannot answer this accurately. I do not have the powerhead or the battery but everything else weighs 4lb. 4oz.. I have never worried about making a light-weight st.-way boat but I always considered what the total rig would weigh when I designed the boat. That concept has worked out pretty...
