I am a fifty something, modeler. I have always enjoyed building models, but the additional thrill that RC brings is really rewarding! Although my primary interest is in the building, I have really come to enjoy heat and SAW racing. I got started in RC boats with a Dumas Tuna Trawler kit, but now I am designing and building my own boats. I do have some prebuilt fiberglass hulls (an Aeromarine StingRay 43", an H & M Streamer and a Bandit Shovelnose Hydro.)

Right now I am keenly interested in the 82 Miss Budweiser (griffon powered) hydroplane. I intend to build a 1/10th scale of this boat to race. It should be a real challenge.

Our local club HOTMBC in the west Houston area has a really great bunch of guys and I am pleased to be a part of this group. With the urging and assistance of my club members I have been able to set a couple of NAMBA and IMPBA Fast Electric speed records. I also really appreciate the camaraderie of RC Boat racing. Competitors helping one another to get on the water and then totally focusing on guiding their own craft to victory is an amazing if contradictory reality in this hobby!

I would like to learn more about props and electric motors.
