Hello,

My name is Ron and I'm originally from Downers Grove Illinois. My hobby has always been model boats, although I've also built some Carl Goldberg r/c planes and a glider once. My first model boat was a Dumas 12" cabin cruiser powered by a Cox .049, then shortly after I built a 18" Atlas van lines U-71 also powered by a Cox .049, this was around 1982. As I got older I built larger and more complicated boats, mostly Dumas. I was one of the original members of the IMBPA fast electric boat club, The Timberlake Amp eaters out of Westmont, Illinois in the mid/late 80's. Most of my racing experience centers around fast electric hydro's such as my Hughey modified MRP Mr. Pringles and a couple of the Electric thunder shovelnose hydro's detailed like the '57 Hawaii kai III. Those were my signature race boats at that time. In the mid 90's I got into truck driving and had to put my hobby on the side for awhile. Now, about 3 yrs ago, I'm back into building and running my boats....Cool thing is, I had my MRP and my electric thunders boats along with a few others in a storage locker, all my stuff I had since the late 80's....I still have them and yup, they still work!

So now I work delivering diesel fuel and gasoline products down in south Texas where I currently reside. Its very mild weather down here most of the year so I can run my boats year round...I am in the process of repainting my Dumas U-76 Atlas van lines, among a few other projects including another Atlas van lines, a 36" U-71 this summer.
