am /fm is the the band . you r crystals change the CHANNEL . so sorry but no. you change crystals so you and some one are not on the same ch or you will be driving there boat and they be driving yours so you and your buddy don't want be on the same ch . because you guy will have a bad day .

gas boats a lot of times with an am radios cut out do to the gas motor. yes the radio will work . i have had some that did cut and some that did not .and what i mean by cutting out t is Servos will move on there own with out you using the transmitter . some say that i am out of my mind ...

sounds to me like you need a complete set the receiver transmitter and Servos. i have a set but no Servos its am so if you running a gas boat i'ed go with an fm setup if its nitro it will work just fine

do need the rx an tx or just the radio??

pro boat radios are jr ? if you need a radio i got a load of them .i run spektrum now

my first boat was a dumas deep v 60 with a vent co 61 in had to start it with a rope . sorry no pic's its long gone now
