Finally back in the shop and have been putting final touches on my 20 hydro.

Should have ready to paint in couple of weeks.

I decided to lower strut as low as possible. Bottom of strut is even with bottom of ski.

Wanted some feed back from boaters that run the Jae. Is this good or bad.

Of coarse I can always raise it. Just curious if anyone has tried this.

Tom, your build looks nice. Go to the Zipp kits web site and look at the 21 GT setup instructions which will show you where to put the strut for optimum performance. Martin Truex helped with the setups for the latest boats which hold the records. I would go with that. Have fun, by the way there is a new thread with some good info on this forum.

Very nice work Tom,I think the strut is a little deep. Just my finding.(for me)
Tom,

I believe Ron will agree with me.....

Set the strut "exactly" as described in the instructions....

Do not deviate from the instructions.....start her up and throw her in...

You will not be disappointed...

Rod Geraghty

Prop=Start with a bag,sharpened and balanced ABC H-5....

Tom,

A few years ago I milled off the bottom of a JAE strut, just like you did. I ran it and then tried another un-milled strut resting on the ski. I did not see any noticeable difference in the performance.

I've raised mine up off the strut a little depending... So many variables in this. For the most part i keep it on the top of the ski.... Just my opinion from running my JAEs. Everyone has one just like everyone has an .... You get the idea
