I have a wood hydroplane that has the points on front of the sponsons chipped.

What is a good wood filler to use for this. Wood is still bare.

A spot size of about 1/8 inch square.
 
Wood Epox by abatron. Sands easily,can be drilled,nailed or whatever....

Rick.. good point.. should not be used to "buildup" a missing part... I would fix with wood or other media and then finish.

If it not a scale being judged I would just round them over this way they wont chip next time
 
Fiberglass fibers, Colloidal Silica or high-density fillers are what I would use in the application asked about. As for microballoons and other low-density fillers, they are best used for fairing and fillets where structural strength isn't a requirement. As for Greg's use of sawdust, I believe that would be considered a higher density material
