The Badger Model Boat Club is announcing our first race this year, the Badger Spring Opener. This race is a 2 day 5 heat race. Any class that enters with 8 or more boats will run in the Shootout Format.

Starting with open water on May 18th from Noon to 5pm, and directly after, we are hosting our first official Friday Night Pit Party at the pond! The Badgers will cook and serve all the food, BYOB and menu to follow soon (If you know us, you will know we bring only the best!)

This will be followed by 3 heats of Racing on Saturday and 2 heats on Sunday. We will have food available both days by donation to the Goldwing Motorcycle Club. (Their Cowboy Beans are the best!)

Attached below is both a race flyer and informational sheet. Registration will be open on RCRACINGEVENTS January 20th 2018. Sign up soon!

I have the same question Butch. Were about a Month away. We need our Nitro friends to begin signing up. Best way to keep nitro from withering away is to keep racing them.

A few of us stay at the Days Inn. This is a clean low cost Hotel about 3 miles north of pond just off I-94. There number is 262-884-6840

Then there is a large number of Hotels about 5 miles south of the pond just off I-94 at hwy 50. Too numerous to name.

Let us know if you need more info.

Its officially boating season here in Wisconsin. (of course - there is still snow on the ground)

At least a dozen Badgers participated in our annual pond clean-up day as the weather has finally broke. We were able to get some pond maintenance and the buoys set for the season yesterday. Hopefully our new sub-buoy design makes buoy replacement easier. Badger Art Jayne spent many hours fabricating his new design over the winter. Many ideas form our Badger meetings over the winter are in Art's design. The club meetings are proving to be an invaluable tool to run the club.

We are trying a something new to prevent buoys from getting hit - we are painting them with two coats of fluorescent orange!! I know this will work much better as long as the boats are on the shore!!

The first Badger race (The Spring Opener) is less than a month away.

Registration is open on rcracingevents. Don't forget to sign up for the Friday night Pit Party Cook Out.

Thanks to all the badgers who participated yesterday.

LESS WORK MORE FUN is definitely working with the great group of boaters at the Badgers!!

Hey Bill. I also like 5 bouy turns from a racing standpoint. From a club standpoint it is 4 more bouys to maintain. Believe it or not it is hard enough to maintain the 3 bouy turns.

About two weeks to our Spring Opener. Signup deadline is approaching at May 13 to determine classes and awards. All new custom medalions this year. And a terrific dinner planed fro Friday night.

Still looking for our nitro runners.

See you then. Doug
