Evening all,
I'm trying to get a new tunnel ready to race and am having some engine problems. I have a number of K&B outboards, in this case a 7.5. I have four of these and run one of them on an old Hotshot Sprint that I will be racing tomorrow. It's always run well and been trouble free. The one in question though is, or was, a good runner until yesterday. I wanted to put a few laps on the boat for testing before I took it to a race but each of the three times I took it out I have had engine problems to the point that the boats has yet to move five feet under power. Yesterday it finally broke the connecting rod. I need one of two things...either a new rod or a different outboard. Is there a good source for K&B engine parts? I know about MECOA but I doubt they will have anything. Even if there is a source for parts is there a good modern production engine available somewhere? Eventually I am going to run out of powerplants and be forced to do something. Any leads or ideas are appreciated.
