There was a rumor out there about a year ago that Zipp was going to offer a longer version of the JAE 12 like they did with the 21 GT. That never happened I guess, but I was just wondering if anyone has build their own elongated version? I wonder if a 2-3" longer tub would be more stable in rough water? Any thoughts?

Bob I did a 26" Fe fiber rigger Jae based on the Jae .12 and the handling is great even in rough water.I also built the same boat using a GO .21 engine for a friend that is waiting some parts to go to water. here's short a video of two 4S riggers. https://youtu.be/xm9JXdckDmU

Bob,

I was going to call Joe at Zipp Kits and see if he will cut out a

26" version a (GT-12) with a bait box added to the back of the longer tub.

We also have modified the front sponsons on our newest 12-Hydro

and it seems to run Very Well with these few changes. Getting a little more

power also with a Japanese modified version of an older Nova Rossi-12

On-Road motor from Japan. I lucked out on Ebay last week and found a Gem

of a motor.

Trying to figure out how to build a new carbon-12 pipe for the latest motor.

In the process of turning a wax mold on my lathe and then I was thinking of

putting carbon sock over it with high temp epoxy. I need some help if anyone

has any better ideas?

With Martin and Glenn setting the bar so high with 12-SAW boats it has me

wondering how fast we can make these little 12-Nova Rossi motors turn up.

Trying to get a dyno project going for some head button and pipe testing also.

A busy Spring up here in Traverse City, Michigan for sure. Lots of ideas I just

need more time out in the shop to make it all happen.

Mark, I haven't done this yet but my plan for making carbon fiber pipes is to make a two part pipe and glue it together. Make the header, diffuser and belly of the pipe as one part, make the other half of the belly a slip fit, converging cone and stinger. I'm planning to turn the plugs out of wood and pull carbon socks over them and vacuum bag. Make the plugs long enough that you have a section you can knock out with a mallet after its cured. Glue halves together with an additional 1-2" of sock over the joint and you're done.

Bob,

I have three new 12-GT’s on the way from Joe and Mike Walker.

I will let you know how they work soon.

Thanks Mike And Joe,
