Can anyone tell me what kind of paint to use on resin parts like, exhaust stacks, dashboards, driver heads. Is it enamel, lacquer, acrylic. Is it automotive, rattle can, brush on. Also what kind of clear coat to protect the painted surfaces from the nitro fuel, enamel, lacquer, acrylic. Again automotive, rattle can or brush on.

I am not talking about painting the boat, just the resin parts and pieces.

Thanks.

Mark,

I have been painting these small parts with Tester's bottle paints (enamel), on the larger parts and blacked out windshields on sportboats I use rattle can (enamel) then clear it with my final clear coat.

I use automotive paints for all the parts and the hull. I never have problems with gas eating the paint. The better the quality the clear the longer it will last.
