Hi all finally got my Dunlap W.O.F. 30 tunnel hull set up with a Leopard 3674 1900 KV motor on a O.S. lower unit a Swordfish 220 amp + esc and x440 prop made a 5s lipo connecting a 2S and a 3S lipo in series.First run 51 mph gps reading the boat handled like an outrigger motor, esc and lipo temps under 100 degrees after a 2 minute run. A big thankyou to all forum members for all the great suggestions . Regards Andris Golts.

About to embark on the JD 30" WOF build myself, would appreciate any pointers or gotcha's to look out for that you may have encountered.

Great to see one of my designs being built.

Haha wow a look in from the man himself hello to you Mr Dunlap from the land down under, it is certainly a thrill to hear from the man that I read about and seen as a bit of an outboard hero as a young fella. I bought a set of plans over 20 years ago but didn't understand them nor was the internet really useful in anyway back then so they were lost to time. However I have downloaded the set that are hosted on this forum and they do make a lot more sense these days. So far I have cut out the plans and glued them to some poster board so I have some patterns to trace. Most of it makes sense what I am unsure about is where I employ the foam. If anyone has some instructions like what you received with the old mail order plans it would be greatly appreciated or even point me in the direction of some info that would be great. I have been watching some you tubes on how WOF is employed in model aircraft building and just figured that it would become apparent once I built the main structure of the craft.

Thanks again and hope y'all are having a good summer up there

I couldn't find any digital photos of some of my tunnel boats, but here's a few showing attaching foam to the formers of my EP Kneeler.

Okay, since "THE FROG" is apparently known about in Australia, we're lucky he doesn't have an ego. It could be an issue if he did.

That said, how many times have you raced against boats built from your own designs, JD? I'd be willing to bet it's been more often than not.
