Does anyone know the length of speed master XTR strut? Looking for a round bottom strut about 3.5 To 3.75 long.

I am curious about where to find Bucks Stinger drives at

Ron Buck has a local machine shop make his stingers but the guy has some major cardiac issues over the last couple of months. I know the guy and hes almost past his health issues and is really anxious to gat back to work.

I saw my friend who makes the stinger drives for Ron Buck Monday afternoon and he was kind of giddy. He said he actually got in a couple of hours work that day.

Hes wearing a defibrillator vest just in the event his heart stops. He has to wear that till mid June at which time his doctors will decide if he needs to have his pacemaker upgraded to one with a defibrillator.

Thanks Steve. I am curious about the bucks stinger drive but still looking for a strut for my current mono project.

Mark, the Speedmaster extended strut blade will put the front of your prop hub at +/- 4". There are a couple of options to custom tailor that distance. You can use the long or short transom brackets, and you can shorten the barrel length as well. And of course, it will depend on how much spacing you leave between the dog and the barrel. Round or flat bottom is your choice.

There is a new batch of Buck stinger drives under way. I was in the shop where they're being made this afternoon and it looks like the first 25 pieces will be ready is 3 to 4 weeks.

There are currently 8 pieces of what was formerly known as the Ron Buck Super Stinger.

I say formerly known as because Ron never did make the Ron Buck Super Stinger.

He always bought them from me and put his name on them.

I always gave Ron a screaming deal on these drives then last March I raised his price to get him in line with what other dealers are paying, he decided he no longer wants to be a dealer.

Since March of this year I have been selling these drives on my own. I finished 50 drives in May and today I have 8 drives left.

I haven’t made anything since the end of May this year because in June I moved from San Clemente California to Vancouver Washington.

I’m in the process of getting my shop set up so I can start making parts again.

When I get started again I’m going to try to expand my hardware lineup. Up till now I have concentrated on gas monos because that’s what I run, but lately I have had a lot of interest from guys who run nitro and electric boats.

Once I get the shop set up, I’ll take a serious look at parts other than gas stuff.

I already have running gear designed for a gas rigger and a gas hydro. The hydro stuff can also be used on a cracker box, Jersey Speed Skiff it a cat.

I put a warranty on the running gear I make. My warranty states “if my hardware fails due to manufacturing or material defects, I will repair it, replace it or refund your money, your choice for 2 years from date of purchase .”

The only parts a don’t warranty are the lead Teflon bushings. Collision damage is not covered.
