Drivers - Unless we see a significant upturn in entries over the next week we will unfortunately not be able to run the 2015 Northern Nationals. If that decision is made all sponsor and registration funding will be returned. Thanks Tony Jacuzzi

All signed up Tony. If you can, hold out a bit. I'm finding people are waiting until the last minute to register. There's a little over a month to go. A couple more weeks will tell the story.

I've got four people entered for the Hydrofest running in two weeks.

Hey T Man:

It can be nerve wracking watching the entries (or lack of) on RCRacingevents, but try to give it some time.

I'm sure it will fill in nicely in the last couple weeks.

Race Cancelled - Thanks to everyone that had indicated registration but due to organizational constraints the 2015 Northern Nats has been cancelled. All entry fees and sponsorship funding will be refunded.

Very sorry to hear this Tony but i understand completely.

It's a huge undertaking for a club to host an event, if the numbers aren't there it's hard to justify the effort.

Very sad to read this, a race so rich in history in a district that use to be so strong.

I truly hope things improve for this event next year.

This is really bad news. I remember London having between 200 and 250 boats for the Northern Nats and drawing racers from Florida and Louisiana. Of course this popularity does not happen over night. I hope this race can be reserected to what it once was.

Pretty simple guys, show up and support!

How many boats were at the last Northern Nats in London Mike, (I'm thinking half the numbers you posted above) and how many races did you have to cancel in the last 5 years before the London pond gates closed for good? The fact is... London held three races a year for a long time and got down to only one, the Northern Nats, which had declining numbers in each of the final 3 years.

I champion Tony for even attempting to resurrect a race during these times. I'll say once again... the Southern Ontario club has an excellent site and some of the hardest working members I've ever seen and can guarantee you it wasn't cancelled for the lack of effort. More the lack of support!

You're right Ron that we went to 1 race a year when we used to hold 3. Fact was that other clubs in our district complained that they could only hold 1 race and London was holding 3. We complied and gave up 2 of our race dates. With lack of workers in the club, I was content with 1 race. Unless my memory is short, I remember cancelling 1 race. I don't recall any other races in our district over the past 5 years that drew more participants even though we have seen a steady decline all over the country.

i appeciate everyones concerns, were hoping that this is a bump in the road, and after meeting and reaching out to racers at the Can Am we hope to have a new approach to the race. Will see you all in 2016 and we will be bigger and better!!

I think a lot has to do with the date. There are quite a few big races towards the fall. Maybe mid July for next year?

I know for me July was a totally dead month. No local (D1, 2) races to go to. I don't mind the Aug date either, I'm flexible. However I know the Can-Am will prob. go back to July as we gave our date away because of the Pan-Am games. Not my call, I'm not our CD nor our Dist. Director. (who both rock!)

Jim the Can-Am race was moved because of the Gas Nat's has well they will be back up and running in July in 2016.

Luc, Terry, Randy and all the D1 folks we definitely want to work with you guys on the Can Am and Northern Nats schedules in 2016 and beyond.
