guys with the ul-1, stock ,motor, esc , plastic prop , and two 2s, 5000mah packs, what is your top speed.

why I ask is in my area a guy want to sell his ul-1 ,( per above setup ) and he telling people that the boat was gps at 52mph ,

now ive heard 52 with abrass prop but I cant see the plastic holding it shape with the friction ,

so what is your top speed with a plastic prop and then with the metal prop.

thanks grim, they always said , knock of 10 mph to what someone claim his running,
MY UL 1 with the plastic prop on a radar gun was 34 - 36 fresh batteries it would do 36 then slow down after 1 lap or so to a average of 34mpg

My UL 1 with a X640 fresh 5s battery hit 59 mph then slowed down to 55 mph and was a hand full to keep on the water I have sanded the bottom smooth, added a 1515Y1 motor, 120 amp ESC changed the turn fin and using 3/16 flexshaft, needless to it's not stock anymore. The faster I get it to go the harder it is to keep it on the water. Will try a 6s battery soon, I also found out that a single battery will give me better speed than 2 batteries for the short runs I make, I think the weight of two batteries is to much for the short run, I normally get about a 4-5 min run then the battery alarm sounds off.

Walt,

Have you tried the ABC 1615-17-45 yet?

I think this may be a Great Propeller on your set up?

It sounds like you are enjoying the fast electric UL-1

down their in the sunshine state?

Tried the 1515-17 and it seamed to help settle the boat down, with a single 5S battery it ran a steady 57mph untill thr battery started to run out of power, will try the 1516 and 6S sometime soon. this is the only electric that I have, still like the nitro.

Tried the 1616-17 and the top seed was 59mph but very difficult to drive as the boat was rocking from sponson to sponson also had to put 5 oz of lead on the front to keep from blowing over. this is probley the last runs for this boat as the seams are breaking apart and the epoxy will not stay glued, it is now taped to gather with hockey tape, time for a new boat, the 1515 1Y on 6S is just to much for this boat. but it was fun while it lasted.
