Has anyone ever used carbon fiber motormount plates in a 1/8 scale,I have the rubber isolators mounted in the bottom of the boat, also would a carbon fiber rudder work, I am working on triming some weight from my 1/8 scale boat.

Use Delrin for the motor mounts. The material is lite holds good thread and machines well.

It also is great at absorbing vibration.

It can be gotten from McMaster Car

Agree with Doc on the Delrin mounts for the same reasons and yes it's way cheaper in price. Also carbon fiber does not tap well and unless you seal it the vibrations from the motor could cause shedding of fiber slivers, something you don't want passing thru your motor......

Thanks don I appreciate the advice, I finally have some time to work on this boat this summer. Rc 90 boat.
