I have a Mac 45 in a sport 40 with a Mac pipe running 60% fuel and a 452 prop.I need a starting length on the pipe.

Or a little shorter. At 9 3/4" with the X452 the load may not be enough and the engine will burn plugs.9 3/4"
The CMB Nitro pipe is the original pipe that I designed for the MAC 45. 10" is too long for the MAC in a Sport hydro. We ran it at 9" on the stock MAC in a Phil Thomas. An easy running 64 mph set up with a cupped 1450.Dave you have seen our boats run. I'll give you measurement tonight. I would start at 10".
The CMB Nitro pipe is the best pipe for Sport 40 I have ever run. You need a muffler for it also.
Yes if the carb is set up correctly.I guess I'm still way to long.
