A fellow model boater had an accident a few days ago, when trying to pick up a dead FE catamaran with twin motors from shallow water, one of the propellers suddenly revolved again and cut his toes, hosipitalised and got 30 stitches.

Beware of dead boats in the water !

I bet he will where shoes next time. Thats why IMPBA says no open shoes when boating.

ouch that hurt my foot looking at it....always where shoes or steel toes....lol....no more barefoot or open toes as too impba rules as well...get well.

Even when you where shoes or boots you can still get cut. I was cut by the turn fin while I was retrieving my son's A mono when he was coming in and it went over my foot. Yes I was standing in the water and I had steal toe rubber boots on, it came over the top of my foot and sliced the top of the boot like razor blade and nicked that big vein on top. Picked up the boat and did not even realize I was cut until I sat down and felt my footy was wet. It 's amazing how much it can bleed in that short amount of time!!

Not trying to be rude, but a text book post on what NOT to do- ESP- with an F/E Boat....

Lesson learned the hard way and a poor reflection of those being safe IMHO .

The title of the post should have read- Stupid Mistake.

We re playing on a beautiful beach,on a warm day one cannot help to wear swimsuit and trying to be barefoot on the nice sand and nice water whenever possible.

Certainly it is a very good reason learned.

Thanks for the reminder to be careful out there! Even though the boat is "dead" treat it like a loaded gun until you get the batteries disconnected. Nice graphic picture...LOL I can see it now, Dude, get a picture of this... Glad he is ok.

Respect the prop, trust me i know.

Last year my hand slip while putting on the cowl of a heat of sport 40 in Charleston.

I ran the heat but went to hospital after.

Thank god my Jj was there.

Thank You Jenny ,aka jj apparel

Prop gaurds should be built into the boat stand so your hand can't get near the prop when running. Anything in the water is sharp!! We discussed this at our last meeting that when retrieving electric boats that there should be 2 people in the boat and props should be left sticking out over the water not the interior of the retrieve boat.

The driver of the r/c electic boat should be REQUIRED to put the trans down. I have seen drivers holding the trans while talking bump the thottle!
