Hi all . Do i have to loosen the 5 screws on the lower unit to remove the prop shaft ? If i remember correctly i had to turn clockwise to loosen counter clockwise to tighten last time i think i worked with a K&B lower was 1992. Regards Andris Golts.
We must have been typing at the same time, not trying to hijack the thread but what about the O.S. lower unit, if I oil the oil transfer tube will it reach the shaft?no need to loosen screws. but yes its left hand thread, so to loosen you'll need to turn to the right, left to tighten

Most people have the new style legs where the prop shaft assembly screws in BUT if you have one of the original K&B 3.5 legs it has two small flats on the inside of each side of the housing of the prop shaft bushing that corresponds with flats made into the casting and to remove that type of prop shaft assembly you will have to remove the screws that hold the halves together to remove the prop shaft assembly.Hi all .
