Jeff the self righting is a cool feature. It must have the cowling full of foam and a hole in the rear of one of the sponsons to let just enough water to enter that side to roll to hull back over... the FE tunnel guys should be paying attention and playing with that Idea. It may take few seconds to roll it back over (depending on the size flood hole they use) but they could pick up some of those DNF points instead of staying upside down and chancing getting run over plus I'm sure the CD's will love the saved time it will offer in retrieving dead boats.

Carl it certainly is an interesting idea.
I have talked to so many people that stop to watch us run and would like to run model boats but didn't have a retrieve boat and passed up the idea because of that. This boat should pull some people into boating that would other wise not even try it. We have got to get more young people interested in this sport.

A kayak solves the problem of having a motorized retrieve boat. Even better having a fast kayak. Makes quick work of it. And no wake!

This is a GREAT idea!!.

Have a new 25" hull in the design stages now...We'll add this feature...

It will use something similar to the old MRP outboard in size

THANKS EVERYONE

Paul,

Post a video when you finish. I may test this on one of my hulls too and possibly offer it as an option for the FE guys.

Check out the steering. Prop thrusting by rotating the outdrive shaft.. Changing angle and height at the same time. At those speeds gonna make it squirrelly in the corners. Love the slow motion shots of it out of the water while turning. I do liek the self righting feature thou. Thats cool. With both sponsons open, it will work either way.

Mike:

I have seen these out drive ideas before and wondered what they would do in a competition tunnel. You would probably have to work with the idea to get it to perform as it should. It seems like it would be prone to blowout the rear end as you rotate that unit... It is cool though.

It will be fun to play with that idea.
