That is cool being able to see what is going on the turn fin is something to look at it almost looks like it is a lot of drag going on in the straights

Have you ever tried to make the fin a lot smaller to see how it runs

Cool!

I'm trying different turn fins at different angles...this is why the camera will help me to fine tuning this boat. Thanks Gill

With this curved fin it is hard to define the right angle of attack because it lifts too much the sponson. In the last video the sponson was maybe 1"above the water so I pulled it backward but it is causing drag on the straights, nothing too much serious as the boat is running 81mph with a 2818. Now the boat is equipped with a Amdy Brown turnfin and lets see what happens.

I heard that what if the fin was more straight and only had a 30 degree bend at the bottom with that much roll in the fin it is like a hydro foil to much rolled surface to ride on

Gill,

Have you tried a straight fin with a 20-degree bend towards the bottom yet?

Old school I know, but it would be nice to see old designs versuses new designs?

Mark I installed a .90 SGX turnfin now and I will test the boat in a few days. This turnfin is smaller than the previous and I guess it is a 20 degree bend...will post results soon.

Thanks

Gill

Gil, the booms look like they are flexed on the boat stand before you launch the boat. The flex must just be distortion in the camera lens?
