I have a mono that is currently in need of an engine and I'm not sure what direction to go with it. I'm in D4 and we don't have much draw for gas except for thunder boat. Wondering if I should just go for a stock zenoah 26 for super sport class or go with something that can run a regular pipe instead of that canister muffler.

I heard RCMK makes a nice engine that doesn't really require any work to run well.

You might want to check into the stock engine rules as they may have changed. The big problem was that the cannister mufflers would fall off constantly.

As far as engines go, pick your poison. I run RCMK's myself. You have to gap the plugs down to .016" otherwise you'll start frying secondary coils. The recoil starters are iffy at times so you might want to invest in an Easy-Start, they make a world of difference!

The T-Boat class and some others require Zenoah's only, hte reason why I don't have a T-Boat.

D-4 is mostly nitro country so I know what you're up against.

That hull would be best suited with a pro-modded 26 or better. In order to get it to run well with a stock 26 you will have to adjust the C/G and prop accordingly. I don't run any stock engine classes but will be next year, I have a T-boat being built over the winter Contact anyone with a good rep about a mod engine or go onto Jims rc gas boat dock and see who is selling what these days. Once the season is over some times you will find some good deals on used engines there.
