I am getting ready to mount the hardware on a .21 mono. Is there a rule of thumb as to where to place the trim tabs? I was thinking some place around the center line of the prop to the lower edge of the Tab?

That's where I've always mounted mine for the last 30 years. Make sure the tabs are 1/32 " above the bottom of the boat and parallel to the bottom.
