A pulled coil can be good ,,meaning you have found a good needle.

Yours looks Rich / shiny going by the picture.

Brand new MC 9 after 6 laps....

what causes the element to pull like this?
That's called don't change a thing. Pipe is hitting perfectly when you see the element pulled and still shiny.

Yes true Terry...I like to bring out a coil or so...

Lennard what machine you operating ,?

I must say it looks like you could shorten the pipe or lean a tad ,,to get that nice dull look,.

Remember the coil reading is mixture and the colour of plug base is heat..

running a bit rich, breaking in a new piston/sleeve in motor i assembled from old broken motors, frankenstein cmb.....

only did 6 laps in 1/8 smokin joe, but motor was pulling superhard on hot (85-90 degree, high humidity) day

that's brilliant David...coil is mixture, color is heat! i will never forget that now

The next time you put in a new plug and run the engine before you take the plug out of the engine mark the plug on the ext side and see if the coil is pulled toward the ext.if so the pipe is working like it should.I would not change anything.

ok...so a pipe is scavenging so hard the element gets yanked out?

that's the answer i was looking for...thanx guys
