Well, I purchased the Overkill Rc firmware kit and from what I can tell, I am now the owner of a fried GT3B transmitter. I do not want to discourage anybody from buyiing one because I have heard that they do work, but I can assure you that the instructions are a little vague. I tried getting in touch with the people at Overkill but I have had no success.

So when programming your transmitter, if you hear a beeping sound... I would disconnect everything. Otherwise...

If anybody knows of a remedy, let me know.

I did all the mods on mine and tried two different STM8s boards but never did get it to work.

Better off I guess lol.

I just wanted to try it for the challenge but I don't really need the extra functions on the boats I use it with.

I've done many transmitters with no problems, I've helped others on here, I know Marty Davis has hacked his 3C without a problem. Send me a pm and I'll see if I can help. Austin Hutchinson of overkill R/C has always been very helpful.

Thanks, John

The instructions were not good, but John helped me through it. It does work,.. but maybe not as well as I might have hoped.. I did have a problem where one receiver had the 3rd channel needle setting stop working.. not really sure how..

I must thank John Beardslee for helping me with the problem I had. Everything is up and running.

THANKS JOHN!

yep,.. he got me all squared away too,.. the instructions are not good for a non-programmer type of person..

Hi guys,

Either one is the same. I'm packing to head south for the winter, so if I can help in the next couple of weeks let me know or else it is going to be a while before I can help you. **** can believe an "Old Dog is in the middle of this and there aren't some of you young guys aren't able to help ------ oh well glad to help just let me know - we'll get it done.

John
