Hi Mike,

My 1/4-28 thd, square drive nuts are for 3/16" shafts and I got them from K&B (MECOA), they're reasonable and very compact. I don't have any for the larger size engines yet.

Thanks, John

Mike

Try Octura models .That is what i have been using for years. Some one makes a set up that you can put in a Collet all sizes if you need to.

I have 1/4x28 x.150 nuts for the 21...I run .150 cable in all my 21 boats. No need for bulky 3/16 cable for a .21

I also have the cable and can square it.

Mike,

Used to be the big supplier of square drive connectors was a company called West Coast Products.....

I believe they are/were in California....

They made every conceivable combination of cable size and thread connections possible....

I don't know if they still exist but Al Hobbs or Lenny Blake at Rumrunner should know....

There were some real quality pieces that West Coast manufactured...

Rod Geraghty

I have a phone # for Hobbs if you need it...I know someone out there has Lenny's phone # also....

Mike, I've some DUMAS square drive couplers which covered 1/4"-28' thread & 8mm thread to suit all your listed CMB engines.

I can apply pics & price if you interested.

Bob,

Sorry, I have not looked at IW that closely this week. Thanks for the offer, but I am running 3/16 in the boat now and do not want to go thru the hassle of sizing it down. I am going to try setting mine up a little differently and use a one piece shaft that is squared on the end and make up some pieces to retain it in the boat. I may need some help getting some shafts squared off.

Mike,

I believe Steve Peterson has the press to square the cables.

Brad Christy has a great design to hold the cable in the boat.

Thanks For Reading,

Mark Sholund

I too have a press...along with nuts and ferrules...sizing down is no hassle. Just run teflon tubing which I also have. You will gain rpm reducing the drag alone.
