Well with the racing season over in Eville I learned a lot ,got some racing in, but also had some dissapointment boat not running right but all in all a learning experiance. during the off season i going to give building Hydrolanes from wood a try. I loked at the classic hydro Miss K and it looks like a good way to start into the wood building. I have taken a liking to the round nose hydros and hope to be succesful with it. I hope to build a 1/10 scale Karelsen electric and have it as a boat to run when the nitro ones give me hard times LOL.

Anyone have experiance with the Miss K from classic hydro. im looking for any words of wisdom with building with wood . thank you

Here are a bunch of build pictures for that exact hull plus some videos of my first run. Adding some detail to the cowl and the paint job should be done shortly.

The boat has good build instructions and just let me know if I can help in any way. I just used CA to tack things in place then used Epoxy with a thicnener to actually do the gluing together and sealed with thinned epoxy.

Thats cool thanks the pic will help a lot . So you used just CA glue to tack it then epoxy like 10 15 at LHS and then thinned it down to waterproof it . how do you thin it? and i been looking at the pic how will everything fit like the batterys what kind of lipo pack can you use and would the SV 27 setup be good for this size boat.

Thinned epoxy to to seal the boat inside and out. I have used Acetone and also denatured alcohol (the good stuff you get at the paint store not the drug store). The SV27 is too big for these boats in my opinion. I use a 2s 2500 to 3000 mah. If you give me your email address I can send you the plans the boat was based off and I just used all the info in the placement of the gear. I used this motor

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...=LXLWY5&P=K and with a 2500mah lipo it will easily do 35 to 40 with no heat using a Octura X-430R prop. If you choose to set it up to turn right then there are a bunch more props you could use. Just depends on what you want to do with it take a look at the gallery of pictures and videos I have of mine being built and running at

I have used a Hacker Navy 70 ESC as I have bought them used. You might try one of these

That is one problem is that there are only a few small esc's now that Hacker stopped making the 70 navy

I know this is an old thread, but of those who have built this boat do you think it would be suitable to power it with a 1/2a nitro engine?
