My wife and I are looking at a property in Battleground Washington and Im looking for a club or a group to go model boating with.

Ill be moving my machine shop up there as well.

Weve found a house on a one acre parcel in what looks like a great neighborhood.

I just want to get out of California. Id leave today, not I have a house to sell first.

Welcome to Washington(Maybe a little premature since you're still in CA). There is a great place to run model boats in Longview at Lake Sacajawea. But not an active nitro/gas group in SW Washington that I am aware of.

Not sure what you're interested in racing, or even if you are interested in racing. The Puget Sound MBC conducts events at Ft. Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, WA. That's about a 2 hour drive north and 15 minutes off I-5. The PSMBC is primarily a nitro club, but has a couple of gas Thunder Boats.

The Emerald Model Boat Club is located in Eugene and I suppose Eugene is about 2 hours south. They do have a few guys running gas boats.

The only other groups that I know of that run gas boats are R/C Unlimiteds and Unlimiteds NW, but they are all gas scale unlimited hydroplanes. Two hours sounds about right to me as well, going to Eugene. It's been a while since I was there but I know Albany is roughly 45 to 60 minutes south of the Columbia River, if you take I-205 around Portland and don't go through during "rush hour", it's roughly half way.

Was just playing around on Google Maps and it says 135 miles going through Portland on I-5 or 145 going around on I-205 from downtown Battleground to downtown Eugene, with a time of 2 hours 34 minutes either way but that may be taking into account the traffic

Thanks guys. I should have said I do gas boats, but thats ok, if its 2 or 2 1/2 hours away Ill just take the RV and make a weekend out of it.

We're south in Eugene, Oregon. We have members that travel from Washington. The gas classes are small but there is an active gas sport hydro group and I have gas monos, a crackerbox, and a gas scale boat.

Had in excess of 30 on Sunday, even with the Seahawks playing and the Puyallup Fair in full swing.

Just got a good laugh. Ridgefield is where I usually fill my Tahoe's gas tank when heading into Oregon when I'm pulling the trailer. I get off I-5 at exit 14 and fill up at the Chevron on the south side of the road. If I kept going, west on 501, I'd run right into downtown Ridgefield
