My starter belt for my 21 kept slipping. Quite annoying. I took it out of the boat, flipped it inside out and dropped in the sink. Thoroughly coated it in "Scrubbing Bubbles" bathroom cleaner. A light scrub brush in the belts teeth, et Voila! The starter belt has grip again. Took all of 4 minutes and saved buying a new one.

A word to the wise here. A squeaky clean starter belt and a grease free flywheel is an invitation to disaster! The starter belt will grab in the flywheel and when the engine starts will pull the starter down into the boat which can cause all kinds of damage. I have seen it happen more than once. When I install a new starter belt I always apply a very light coat of shaft grease to the belt to make sure that it won't grab the flywheel. Think about it..............

Interesting, I never had that problem. But I just wipe my belts down with a dry paper towel after every day of running.

I used to run 24 volts, then I stepped down to 6s Lipos.

I hear 5s and 4s work well too, but I have not tried yet.
