Has anyone set up an anodizing system for our small parts? I have always wanted to have the ability to anodize aluminum parts.

If you have please list the components and show some images if you will.

Hi Marty

You can do it at home if you are careful and are comfortable working with acid. Check online, there are a number of good informative articles. Supplies are reasonable priced.

Thanks John

Hey Marty:

I did my own stuff for years until I found a shop that fit me in for a reasonable cost.

It's quite easy, lot's of stuff on line like this:

I used an aluminum camping pot, some aluminum wire and in the beginning a 12v car battery with an ammeter and a big variable resistor. A power supply was easier to use later on.

You can buy good dye from Caswell: http://www.caswellplating.com/?source=overture/ Some use food coloring but the real dye is better. Also a proper seal will keep the dark color much better than just boiling in water or whatever.

Give it a shot!
