I have a Gardner exhaust throttle setup on a CMB 90, I started it up for the first time and it wouldn't run steady enough to bother putting it in the water. It idled very high so I had to block the intake to calm/stop it, or blubber rich and die when I gave it a more fuel on the remote needle. Any advice to get the ball rolling would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Norm

Norm, exhaust throttle only needs to be cracked open about 2mm for a relatively fast idle. Any less than that I've found a bit harder to start. I've found that instead of blipping the throttle, you may need to close the throttle to control the revs(motor won't stop like a carb.).

thats how they run

its why they went out of style back in the 90’s

the reason they came to be was because of bad fuel/oil ,bad plugs selection and bad head buttons= poor acceleration

we dont have those problems anymore
