This is the first boat this Dumas Scarab 55 inch hull that when I bought it that I have owned has two fuel tanks. A large 24 oz and a small 3 oz hopper? They were not mounted into the Hull yet since this boat was never completed with the previous Owner. I was going to mount the 24 ox thank lengthwise up front of the engine pick up tub going to the rear- but the hopper tank van it be mounted sideways? and 1/4 inch higher then the main tank? Or will this cause a issue and the hopper should be mounted with the pickup tube going to the rear of the boat also? Its for a Nitro 90 engine. Thanks Ken

yes,pickup =rear right

yes hopper level with carb. personally on a .90 i like it higher,it would be easy to put it on top of the main tank and the whole shabang close to the carb as comfortable to work on. with all that fuel weight in a hull that size dont put it way up front ,keep it close.

the V angle will keep it planted,it doesnt need an overly forward CG

I have the same boat in my bed room, give it a hug every night before bed time, 2 times US 1 winner in 2 different classes, with a .67 mac and ,84 mac, I moved the CG forward 3 inches from where the directions called for, used 1/2 inch plywood for the rails and 1/2 inch piece of ply covered all of the inside of the transom, 1 26 oz slant soft tank with the tank pick up sitting in the bottom of the vee, close to the carb, rubber banded to the rails, and a second 6 oz slt tank, sitting above the carb, rubber banded into the out side of the the rail with the fuel line coming from the 26 oz pick up tube into the 6 oz tank pressure line. This will allow U to use all the fuel from the larger tank up first.

BTW my boat weighs 23 and 1/2 pounds with 32 oz a fuel.

Good luck.

Thanks Guys- Beautiful I will set it up this way. I must have sat there for hours trying to figure out what the PO had in mind since He had built a nice fuel tank base for mounting in the hull. I couldn't find anything on the web showing pictures or where to mount these tanks for the CG. Very descriptive. Thank you! Ken

Use 5/32" tubing for all lines as well . this is the standard setup used by Seaducer boats in their 67-90 size boats . Works well .
Ok was wondering that to. Another hour staring at the boat trying to get the fuel system right. I ended up using the 5/32 fuel tubing thinking this was probably gonna be a thirsty motor! Thank you. Ken

Dick-Curious what top speed you get out of her with your .67 and .84 mac? I know its a heavier hull but she's solid. Ken

OMG the big white whale still lives! Fond memories serving as Dick's boat chucker extraordinaire when The Whale ruled E and F mono at many races and Internats, fast and consistent. My clothes are still drying out from launching that thing!
