I would start somewhere around 9 1/2, maybe 9 5/8th. Don't start too long, or with a too small of a prop or you will need to lean on it too much to get any heat in the engine for break in, even with the water restricted.

That's a good pipe for the 46dd. We run 81/2" plug to center weld, with a10.5mm stinger diam. J.

So with the stock stinger should I go with Dave's suggestion of 9 1/2 -9 5/8?

It looks like you're running one of Andy's hulls so I don't think you need to go any longer than 9-1/2". If you start out with a 1655 or 1457 stock prop and break in the engine rich and no water for 4 or 5 tanks that should be fine and you can go shorter as Jack said. I heat cycle my engines on the bench for 4 tanks, set the throttle at half open and have the needle set rich enough to just keep is running, when it quits make sure to move the piston to bottom dead center and let the engine cool before refueling and doing again. Good luck, your going to love that engine!!!
